  • Pioneering Initiatives:
    • Spearheaded the establishment of the complex congenital heart surgery program at AIIMS, Jodhpur.
    • Collaborated with Healing Little Hearts Foundation (UK) for the first of its kind pediatric cardiac surgery effort with team from Hospital Sant Joan de Deu, Barcelona, Spain.
    • Achieved a significant milestone as the first surgeon to conduct Fontan surgeries in Western Rajasthan.
    • Pioneered the Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery program at AIIMS Jodhpur, showcasing innovation in healthcare.
    • Successfully performed a Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery (MICS) ASD closure, marking a breakthrough for the youngest patient (2 years old) in Western Rajasthan.
    • Executed a Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) repair for the first international patient from Bangladesh in Western Rajasthan.
    • Performed the “Roman Arch Repair” for severe MR in the youngest child globally as acknowledged by Prof. Theodore Kofidis.

My overarching career objective is to establish an advanced program in adult, pediatric, and congenital complex cardiothoracic surgery, leveraging recent advancements in the field. This comprehensive program will encompass:

  • Advanced Cardiothoracic Surgery & Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery:
    • Pioneer innovative approaches in adult cardiac surgeries including total arterial CABGs.
    • Establish a centre of excellence for minimally invasive & robotic valve repair and replacements and coronary artery bypass surgery.
  • Cardiac Transplantation, Mechanical Circulatory Support & Comprehensive Heart Failure Management
    • Develop a robust program for adult and pediatric cardiac transplantation, addressing the growing need for life-saving interventions focusing on ventricular assist devices (LVADs) and other mechanical circulatory support systems for advanced heart failure management.
  • Aortic Surgery & Endovascular Procedures:
    • Lead advancements in aortic surgery, including complex repairs and endovascular interventions and establish protocols for endovascular procedures, contributing to the evolution of minimally invasive techniques.
  • Complex Congenital Heart Surgery Program:
    • Institute an integrated program for complex congenital heart surgeries including pediatric and adult patients of congenital heart diseases.
