PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS

• Pioneering Initiatives:
  • Spearheaded the establishment of the complex congenital heart surgery program at AIIMS, Jodhpur.
  • Collaborated with Healing Little Hearts Foundation (UK) for the first of its kind pediatric cardiac surgery effort with team from Hospital Sant Joan de Deu, Barcelona, Spain.
  • Achieved a significant milestone as the first surgeon to conduct Fontan surgeries in Western Rajasthan.
  • Pioneered the Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery program at AIIMS Jodhpur, showcasing innovation in healthcare.
  • Successfully performed a Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery (MICS) ASD closure, marking a breakthrough for the youngest patient (2 years old) in Western Rajasthan.
  • Executed a Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) repair for the first international patient from Bangladesh in Western Rajasthan.
  • Performed the “Roman Arch Repair” for severe MR in the youngest child globally as acknowledged by Prof. Theodore Kofidis.
• Cardiac Surgery Expertise:
  • Performed and assisted in over 2000 adult and congenital heart surgeries demonstrating proficiency in both simple and complex cases.
  • Expertise in a variety of cardiac procedures, including on-pump and off-pump Coronary Artery Bypass Grafts (CABGs), LIMA, RIMA, and radial harvesting.
  • Led and participated in total arterial revascularization procedures, showcasing a commitment to cutting-edge surgical approaches.
  • Performed a spectrum of minimally invasive cardiac surgeries, encompassing Aortic Valve Replacement (AVR), Mitral Valve Repair (MVR), and ASD Closure.
• Innovations in Cardiac Surgery:
  • Actively involved in the establishment of the Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at AIIMS Jodhpur, emphasizing comprehensive post-operative care.
  • Collaborated with Dr. Alok Sharma to perform the first Ozaki Aortic Valve repair in Rajasthan, contributing to advancements in aortic surgery including the first aortic dissection surgery and aortic aneurysm surgery in AIIMS Jodhpur.
• Multidisciplinary Involvement:
  • Played a pivotal role in ECMO, LVAD, and heart transplant programs at AIIMS, New Delhi, and BLK-MAX Hospital.
  • Actively participated in endovascular procedures such as TEVAR, EVAR, and TAVI (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation) at BLK-MAX Hospital and AIIMS, Jodhpur, showcasing versatility in cardiovascular interventions.
